Víctor López
Ensemble Member
Víctor López has many talents, among them performing, executing an artistic vision through costume and makeup design, bilingualism, and wiggling his ears. Could wiggling ears be Víctor’s very own indication of magic, a la Samantha’s nose wiggle from Bewitched? Perhaps. One thing is for certain: Víctor brings a kind of magic to everything, especially in the theater space.
Since seeing Mary Poppins on Broadway as a youngster, Víctor has successfully embarked upon a mission to transcend the everyday through the exhilaration of theatre. Víctor is most passionate about making art that challenges the mind and shines a light on people that seem forgotten, seeking joy personally and through interaction, and putting people in really cool clothes. Víctor takes pride in their Puerto Rican heritage, citing Raul Julia and his limitless range of talent as an inspiration and the epitome of Puerto Rican excellence in the arts.
“I think it’s important to challenge the status quo. I think the status quo has created a situation where there are the haves and the have-nots, and there are far more have-nots. In terms of art, I don’t care for art that doesn’t make an impression–I like walking away reconsidering my own ideas. The Impostors put on work I believe in, and I want to be a part of that.”
