Anna Roemer
Ensemble Member
Anna serves as a pivotal presence in The Impostors Theatre Co. Since 2022, Anna has been involved with nearly every production, elevating each with performance, choreography, or a combination of both. Born in the wilderness that is Nora Springs, Iowa, Anna was raised on noodles and life lessons by her two parents and older sister. The family moved to Minnesota when she was 4, and it was there that Anna began to dance and kindle some of the dearest friendships of her life. After a rousing debut in her 6th grade play, she continued to pursue theater and intertwine it with dancing all through high school and college, when she did us all a huge favor by moving to Chicago.
Anna now teaches, performs, and lives life doing what she loves with people she loves. As a teacher to children, she’s found that embracing the art of pretend is a part of her daily practice. She is passionate about ensemble based theatre and creating an access point to the arts, so that everyone has the ability to practice expression and participate in the artistic form. Nothing is more magical to her than taking a group of people and, through the act of building something together, creating a family.
“The first time I saw an Impostors show, Tippy: Stories from the River, I resonated so deeply with the style of storytelling, whimsical yet honest, and I knew I wanted more of whatever it was they were doing. Oddly enough, from the first moment I spent time with some of the ensemble members, I felt like the opposite of an Impostor; I felt like I belonged, and it has been such a joy to make art with them since.”
