The Wood Staged Reading

Collaboraction Theatre

July 29, 2017

A full house of brave souls dared to step foot into The Wood this past July. In its first staged reading at Collaboraction Studios, The Impostors proudly brought Mallory Swisher’s folkloric tale of disjointed memory to an eager audience. Following the direction of Stefan Roseen, the actors gave honest performances as Boy and Girl (Chris Gierymski and Rachel Borgo), two ageless wanderers, hunted in an unfamiliar world (narrated by Emily Gulbrandsen). With the sound and music of Chris Gierymski coupled with the dance and movement of Alexis Willis, our audience was fully immersed in the world of the play. The talk-back, led by Literary Director Michael Mead, encouraged our new Accomplices to engage with us, ask questions, offer insights, and proffer creative interpretations. Keep your eyes wide and ears perked for more news on The Wood, coming this year!
